Happy National Daiquiri Day!

I’ve been a huge cocktail fanatic for as long as I remember. Even as a kid, I’d skip out on the sodas and always try  convince my mom to get me a cocktail (virgin, of course!)

They’re so refreshing, colorful and just plain damn DELICIOUS. But, as everything good in life, they pack a hell of a lot of sugar. One cocktail could easily amount to 200 calories. Yikes, That’s a lot of damage in one night.

I took a spin on the original daiquiri recipe and swapped out simple syrup for Agave nectar, which reduced the sugar content by half. If you are adamant on cutting down calories even further, use Stevia instead which contains almost zero calories. I prefer agave because it’s light and the perfect substitute for syrup. It’s so hard to tell the difference.

I made my two favorites -Mango & Strawberry – and they were BOMB! Plus the clean up was nonexistent because of my Magic Bullet Blender. You can just blend and go because of the cup attachment. It’s a lifesaver!
